NBU facilitates the repatriation of dividends accrued before 2014

From now on, Ukrainian companies will be able to pay foreign investors dividends in foreign currencies, accrued not only for 2014 – 2016, as it was until now, but also for the period until 2013 inclusive. The monthly limit for such transactions will be no more than USD 2 million per one legal entity (issuer, depository institution or foreign investor). At the same time, the repatriation of dividends accrued for 2014-2016 will continue, as before, within the limits of a monthly limit of USD 5 million per one legal entity.

In addition, resident borrowers who are in the process of liquidation will be able to make an early repayment of external borrowings from a non-resident creditor (under a loan agreement / loan agreement in accordance with the order (sequence) of meeting creditors’ claims specified in the Ukrainian legislation).

The amendments are stipulated by the Resolution as of 14 November 2017 No. 112, which entered into force the next day.
