Law On State Supervision (Control) Aligned with EU Standards

On 8 April 2026, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law “On the Basic Principles of State Supervision (Control)” (Draft Law No. 14030), aimed at aligning state supervision (control) procedures with European Union standards.

The document provides for the following key provisions:

  • unification of state supervision (control) measures;
  • elimination of ineffective and excessively burdensome provisions of the existing legislation;
  • introduction of a risk-based approach to inspections.

The Law is one of the priority legislative acts for fulfilling Ukraine’s international legal obligations within the framework of the EU financial instrument Ukraine Facility.

The Law will enter into force on the day following its official publication and will become applicable upon the termination or lifting of martial law in Ukraine, except for certain provisions.

The document is currently awaiting signature by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the President of Ukraine.
