The President approved the Law on Feed Hygiene

This Law determines the legal and organizational basis for the production, circulation, labeling and presentation of feeds, the regulation of relations between the executive authorities and operators of the fodder market. The terminology was harmonized with the EU legislation.

The corresponding Law “On Safety and Hygiene of Feeds” (draft law No. 2845) was signed by the President on 16 January 2018 and comes into force two years after its publication. The requirements for labeling, presentation, and packaging of food come into effect 3 years as of the date of publication (except for certain provisions).

Amendments as to the operational permit have already become effective.

Permanent procedures based on the principles of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Points Control (HACCP) system shall be entirely developed, implemented and enforced within two years as of the Law publication.
