NBU Raises Discount Rate to 14.5%

On 23 January 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine press service reported that the NBU Board had adopted Decision No. 24-рш “On the Discount Rate”, which provides for the discount rate to be raised to 14.5% per annum.

The NBU justifies this increase by the rising inflation rate, which reached 12% in December 2024, exceeding all previous forecasts.
Previously, on 12 December 2024, the NBU had already raised the discount rate from 13% to 13.5%.
