Dmytro Syrota Joins Inter-Parliamentary Group "Scotland-Ukraine"

14.12.2023 Dmytro Syrota, managing partner at the legal firm “Syrota, Dzis, Melnyk and Partners” (SDM), has officially joined the work of the “Scotland-Ukraine” inter-parliamentary group focusing on economic cooperation.

The working group aims to assist in developing political, cultural, educational, and economic ties between Scotland and Ukraine. It also facilitates meetings and contacts between parliamentarians of both countries.

The group intends to explore the relationship between Scotland and Ukraine, especially in the context of the war in Ukraine, to identify areas where ties can be strengthened for mutual benefit.

The original Parliament of Scotland (or “Estates of Scotland”) was the national legislature of the independent Kingdom of Scotland. It existed from the beginning of the 13th century until 1707. In 1707, the Kingdom of Scotland united with the Kingdom of England under the Acts of Union 1707, forming the Kingdom of Great Britain. Consequently, the Scottish Parliament was dissolved and replaced by the Parliament of Great Britain in Westminster, London.

The Scottish Parliament examines the activities of the Scottish Government, enacts new laws on devolved matters, and discusses current issues.

Dmytro Syrota, the managing partner of the Ukrainian legal firm SDM, specializes in a range of areas, primarily in investments. Over many years, together with SDM partners and lawyers, he has been exploring all possible ways to assist Ukrainian and foreign direct and venture investors. His accumulated experience includes expertise in telecommunications, finance, aviation, healthcare, real estate, and consumer goods.

Therefore, the joint work of the legal firm SDM, represented by managing partner Dmytro Syrota, and the inter-parliamentary working group, is expected to have positive prospects at legislative and executive levels.
